2026 Board of Directors

At our May 2026 Annual Meeting, the members elected four alumni to the 15-member Board of Directors, joining the other members who had been elected at previous annual meetings. The current members of the Board of Directors are:

Last EPA position was the Director Enforcement and Compliance Assurance in Region 4. Currently retired.
Russell, Sara
Last EPA position was the Director of the San Francisco Federal Executive Board in Region 9. Currently retired.
Thornton, Hilary

Last EPA position was Remedial Project Manager in the Superfund, Emergency Management Division,
Region 4. Currently retired.

Vanino, Ann
Last EPA position was the Chief of the Policy Section, Special Pesticide Review Division in Washington, DC. Currently the owner of Ann Vanino Coaching and Consulting.

Last EPA position was Director, Office of Site Remediation Enforcement, OSWER. Currently retired.

Serving the third year of a 3-year term that ends in 2027:

Last EPA position was Director, Land and Chemicals Division, Region 3. Currently, Adjunct Professor at Villanova University and Lincoln University, both located in Pennsylvania
Banister, Beverly
Last EPA position was Deputy Regional Administrator, Region 4. Currently retired.
Mugdan, Walter
Last EPA position was Deputy Regional Administrator, Region 2. Currently, president of local conservation group.
Orme-Zavaleta, Jennifer
Last EPA position was Principal Deputy Assistant Administrator for Science in the Office of Research and Development and EPA Science Advisor. Currently, Environmental Protection Network Board Member.
Pederson, William
Last EPA position was Associate General Counsel for Air and Radiation. Currently retired.
